Hi

I just wish I could rule out some things, but it seems all my labs don’t rule out anything it just leaves the door open to the unknown. Oh also had a complete spine X-ray because my back is always killing me , forested started in neck, shoulder but now lower back also., I’ve had mris but they didn’t show anything.

Evoxac generic is cheap , cost me $5, for 30days.

If u can tell me how the evoxac works for u? Any side effects or how long last or how much do u take a day ?

i take 3x a day. But you dr may say you need more or less, side effects are not too
bad, some saliva pooling, frequent urination and excessive sweating when I’m working out or exercising.

Wow, so medication is actually working for you ! That’s good to know. Sensation of dry mouth is pretty annoying, my dr told me to start 1 time a day…
So u feel comfortable with medication and saliva pooling ? And are you taking medication before the bed as well ? How is your sleeping with med ?

Sorry I missed this earlier. I’ve been really happy with Evoxac. No side effects, and it works really well. If I go to sleep and didn’t take it, I have trouble sleeping because I’m so dry.

Everyone will have a different experience. I typically make sure to take it a few hours before bed time. It works out best for me that way.

Stoney, tell me more about your experience of evoxac plz ?

Stoney… Thank you very much for sharing with me your experience. Good for you that you have no side effects… Works out for you good… I actually started taking yesterday, noticed difference right away… I feel more saliva

Well, some more question,
How many times do u take ? 3 or 2
How long do you think evoxac last when u take ? 6 hours, 8 hours, or less?

Thank you for your help!

I’ve tried it both ways. You can play with the timing a bit and take it up to three times a day.

Welcome to the group. It can be difficult. A lot of people just don't understand and it can make it even more difficult. Get yourself with a good doctor and hopefully he/she can give you some answers.

Stoney, thanks for your reply, I guess I have to play around with timing huh?
So far I don’t have major side effects so I am happy… Do u take another meds?
I am also suffering from anxiety and panic in the morning, I am taking Xanax also.

I take a lot of other meds, all for the sjogrens and psoriatic arthritis. It works out well for me to just do morning and evening.

My update, yesterday went for a consult with a sleep medicine dr, and looks like I need to have a sleep study, he stated that that could be part of my problem, as sleep I a crucial factor in overall health. Today went for my formal results from the rheumatologist and all my labs came back good, even came up neg on early sjogrens test. He said that I still present symptoms of sjogrens but that it’s more like a sicca complex. He wants me to continue with restasis, plaquinol, evoxac, for 3-4 months and return for a follow up.

Hi. I’ve been battling dry mouth. Its gotten so bad that my lips get dry & crack then they split open & bleed. I’ve also gotten swallon lip.where i can’t talk. So i know exactly what you are going through

Hi Kat, I hear you, I have dry mouth/nose/ throat so bad… Especially throat is killing me…: it’s just really irritated with dryness and waking up at night for glued my throat…: I wish my throat is getting better… It’s been tough with hot weather and everything !

My throat swells as well...They said I have Gerds but I don't have any burning...When my glands in my neck swell my throat swells. I live with the dry mouth. I rinse with water all day long. I drink a lot of green tea with honey. I also eat a lot of blue berries, and black berries. I think the fish oil has helped I take 2400 a day. Just know givemestrength you are not alone. We are all miserable with you, if that can give you any comfort.

I too have the eye problems. lots of plugs have been put in but they fall out sometimes. I put restasis in them in the morning and night. warm compresses morning and night.I use baby shampoo along the lids after the compreses along the lid and then wash it off. In between I use over the counter eye drops for dryness. At night I use a gel , over the counter ,for moisture in my eyes while sleeping. I am also, just recently , on some drops for pressure in my eyes. Before that they would look like a bleed in the eye sometimes the entire eye and sometimes in the corner. Now they are clear and much better.I am 78 years old and have had cataract surgery in the past. I see well but all of what I wrote has helped me and it came from my opthomologist. Hope it helps. The dry mouth is just keep moist with water all day and i keep water at my bedside too. Then there are lots of things over the counter for dry mouth. Medicines contribute to dry mouth too. I hope the Dr. helps you.

Some resolution finally. But let me rewind, my symptoms got worse, specially my eyes, to the point I was having to do Thera tears several times an hour, and they were still painfully dry, had bottom drains cauterized and started lotemax again, eye doc said my eyes were so red and inflamed. He said I also had some small vessels under my eyes. He said I might have ocular rosacea so we started antibiotics. That’s was about 5 days ago and wow what a difference. Secondly I started testosterone therapy also about a week ago. My mouth is starting to be not as dry. Hmmm, is it possible that the testosterone plays a role? Several studies say that it does. Also why does sjogrens affect woman more that men. Hmm testosterone could be an answer. Why does sjogrens affect people that are older? Hormones! When we’re young we have surplus but as we age our supply diminishes or malfunctions? Just my thoughts,
I still have symptoms but I feel I’m getting better and will keep u guys posted

Givemestrength,

So glad you finally found relief for your eyes. I think you have some valid points about Hormones. Did they test your testosterone level? Where you deficient?
