Isolation is the worse side effect for me!

Hi,
I believe I had SS for years and RA also for at least 5 years since DX in 2009.
Right now I’m dealing with some nasty dental issues which is very common for SS.
Frustration seems to be the norm for me now. I was in a group with people with Lyme disease,
Fibro and RA and we all had the same symptoms.

SS certainly does affect your teeth. Years before I knew something was wrong with me I had an infection in the gums near one

of my molars. After about 2 weeks and all of the home remedies I could try I finally went to a dentist. After taking exray'

this dentist came back into the exam room and with tears in his eye's told me that all of my teeth were falling out and that

they all had to be pulled and replaced with dentures. He said that he could not discern any gum disease or related issues. But it appeared that the roots of my teeth just stopped reaching all the way into the jaw bone. The surgical dentist that did the extractions only charged me half price for the extractions. He stated" your teeth came out so easily that I couldn't charge you the full fee". I was only 38 years old at that time. I am 64 now and was diagnose with SS in 2012. Take care of yourselves.

Thanks for your story. I know I am not alone. We can all share these dental woes they are very common.
Today one of my girlfriends called and we went to lunch. It was so nice to dress up and go somewhere. Took a nap when I got home. Nice to be out with people.

Before I knew I had SS, I had to have gum surgery in my early 20's. I've had countless root canals that failed, and so many bridges and crowns I can't keep count. Now, I'm having trouble with my teeth breaking. Have no idea what I am going to do long term.... I have severe osteoporosis as well and can't get dental implants if I lose my teeth. I guess dentures are in my future too. ;-(
