A warm welcome to Holly from Ohio

@SsinOhio

Hi there, Holly

Welcome to Sjogren’s Syndrome Support.

I am so sorry to hear that the last year has been such a whirlwind. It sounds like you have been on quite the medical roller coaster… test after test, lab after lab. I do hope your current treatment plan (plaquinil) is proving to be a good fit for you. How are your Sjogren’s symptoms now?

You might find it helpful to click the search icon (magnifying glass, top right). This is what I use to browse through existing topics. Please do not hesitate to create your own discussions as well by clicking the + New Topic tab. We would love to get to know you better.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Danielle

Hello. I don’t think the plaquenil is working for me. I plan to seek a second opinion. Current doctor doesn’t seem to be explaining information well or discussing treatment options.

(A cardiologist that I had to see for surgical clearance also recommended the second option)

I am glad to be in a group and hope to see information in the discussions

Holly, why not start your own conversation by going to the HOME page, and then clicking on +New Topic (That’s in the top right quadrant.) From there, it’s a simple fill-in form and that’s all there’s to it.

All the best to you! We’re glad that you found us.

Hi Holly,

Just wanted to check in and see how you are doing. I wonder if you have switched to something other than plaquenil. I do hope you managed to speak with a new doctor, one who seems more willing to discussion treatment options.

We are thinking about you!

Danielle

Hello. Thank you for inquiring. I have an appointment today with Rheumatologist, so we will see what changes can be made. I have also set up to see another Rheumatologist for a second opinion at Cleveland Clinic

Hello Holly,

That is great news… you are definitely taking the right steps. Now the question is whether or not you will receive helpful and clear information.

Hope you keep us updated (if you would like, you can do so by clicking the + New Topic tab).

I did see current rheumatologist and he decided to keep me on the platinum and added requip for restless leg syndrome and felt it would help me rest better and possibly decrease fatigue. The requip kinda knocks me out,but but doesn’t decrease the fatigue during the day. It is very frustrating, to not be able to keep going during the day :frowning:

Gosh, very frustrating indeed. I am in communication with a few other community members who are also struggling with fatigue. You are definitely not alone. It sounds like we are due for an updated thread about managing and reducing tiredness.

Do you have another appointment scheduled with your rheumatologist?

Do have a follow up scheduled with local rheumatologist, but also have an appointment at Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion.

Hi Holly,

That is great- I am happy to hear that you have a few appointments booked. A second opinion might be very worthwhile.

How are you feeling?

Danielle

Hello. Thank you for asking. I am having good days and bad days. Saw the eye doctor and got some drops to try. Joint pain moves around but hips have been an issue.

I have been looking into the diet for sjögren, anyone follow anything specific ?

Hi Holly,

Thank-you for touching base. I hope we can help you minimize the bad days as much as possible.

Great question about diet. This would make an excellent discussion post. Would you consider opening this question up to the community? You can click the + New Topic tab to create a new thread, and I am sure members of the community will offer input.
