Biopsy

Yesterday I got a lip biopsy, ouch. While the dr was doing it he was telling the girl helping him and said that the glands were very tiny, he seem to be surprised. He also discovered that my taste buds are swollen and gave me meds for that, I hope the work because I've been over 3 yrs suffering from this pain.

Sorry you had to go through this, hope that you can get some relief. I also hope this is your LAST biobsy of any kind!

Wow

Hello LaPuchita,

For you glands to go small that’s through Lymph nodes and the link below explains it.

http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Lymph-Glands-Swollen.htm

It’s terrible when you taste buds swell as your tongue feels raised high at the back and being right by your throat hurts your swallowing.

On your picture your glands and neck looks very red.

wow, I did not even notice my neck, it does look red

Terri

My tounge still burns and looks ugly and my lip is numb and burns, I wonder if it will get better soon. I missed my check u because of ibs, seems alway something and I feel kidney stones, arrggh, I’m so over this :frowning:

LaPuchita,

So sorry you have so many things against you! Hopefully you have a good GP who can care for most of this instead of sending you all over the planet for care! I hope that you can get a handle on all of this and feel better very soon!

Big hugs,

SK

My lip is a little better, I guess numb is better than ouch. I dont think that tastebud medicine is helping, just making me feel puffy & hungry, I still feel like im sucking on a jalapeño. Does this ever go awy for thos who know what im talking about?

Yeah it does feel like I’m going all over the planet to drs, today I have to see a dr about 45 miles away :frowning: lets see if I.feel like it :frowning: t+ey dnt work together and that why everything takes so long. I have to change dr all the time because on insurance and I think the insurace should keep the older records because the drs dont and want repeat test that insurance wont pay for so they dont want to treat me, its so stupid, I dont have energy f orall this :frowning:

You are so right, and if you ask for records and are fortunate enough to get them, you CANNOT read them! Personally I am fortuante to have a great GP, Rheumatologist, and DC who in the most part can work together well.

The biggest disagreement is that the DC thinks I have RSD, the MD's do not!

I wish you well, perhaps you could nicely mention this problem to them all, and ask for their advice about it. Choose a day when you are in a fairly good mood, so that it does not come off too bitchy. The pain and lack of sleep can make monsters of us some days, no matter how nice a person we are!

My heart goes out to you,

SK

What is rsd? I told the dr, & insurance 100 times & I just keep on at it, they are just to busy, my gp is good but busy

Hello LaPuchita

RSD is “Reflux Sympathetic Dystrophy” …also known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

It’s a disease of the nervous system and characterized by severe pain.

Back Ground

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) is a clinical syndrome of variable course and unknown cause characterized by pain, swelling, and vasomotor dysfunction of an extremity. This condition is often the result of trauma or surgery. In 1864, Mitchell referred to this malady as causalgia, a Greek word meaning burning pain. Newer taxonomy refers to RSD as a type of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), which may develop after an initiating event such as trauma or surgery or may occur spontaneously. Under this classification, causalgia is a type of CRPS that develops after nerve injury. In patients with either of these conditions, sympathetic mediation of the pain (ie, improvement with sympathetic blockade) may or may not be evident.

Lol sorry my cell phone spelling

Hope you are feeling better!

What type of doctor did the test? I’m guessing an oral surgeon.

Take Care!!

Jen

Well my lip has been left numb from the biopsy  and my mouth is still burning :frowning: I’m really hating this. I’m looking to change my insurance but they are making wait until April, so I don’t know if I sold grind a new rhumi now our later. I have an apportionment with my gp, soon
Wow sorry I’m having trouble with this site in my phone.
Idk if I should find a new rhumi now or later, I’ll ask my gp what he thinks when I go to my appointment.

Thanks, today the mouth and lips hurt, i did not even finish my dinner, I can’t taste anything so what’s the point :frowning: I hope the dr listens to me

This is the reason that that gave me the biopsy because of my mouth feeling like this, only today its worse, my tongue is swollen. S hurting so bad I put preparation H on it helped for a little bit. Its for swelling, I was able to eat a little. I can’t believe I did that but … :frowning:

Idk, my mouth burns, the dr treated me for swollen taste buds. The roof of my mouth burns to and some of the gums. I was thinking that about A few years ago i got dental work and since then my teeth in that side gave a nagging ache, and my mouth got worse. :frowning: I’m going nuts :frowning:

Thanks, yeah the dr was not much help :frowning:

I have gone to many drs since this first started, countless ent, dentist, primary, oral. i think it is what it is, idk its horrible
