Brain Fog

Wow! I couldn't of stated it any better Liz! I THANK YOU SO MUCH. I wasn't able to put it in words b/c I am in such a brain fog. You did it for me. I could never thank you enough. I feel that God worked through you to help me see who I am and why I feel the way I do about myself. Thank you thank you, thank you!

I Love the idea of calling people sweet heart and darling. lol lol (I can never remember names.) Question what do you do when you cannot remember a face?

Just call everyone 'darling' or 'sweetheart'- then they won't know you can't remember their name! (You can tell I work with young children!!) The trouble is, when your mouth's so dry you're constantly sipping from a bottle, colleagues probably think you're on the vodka if you're forgetful or off-balance!!

I'm not so bad with faces, just names. But if you're having trouble, then bluff it! My eyesight isn't too good now either- I've said hello to people I've passed in the street before, and my hubby's said 'who was that?', then I say '..so and so..', and he says 'it wasn't, we don't know that person at all!', oh, the embarrassment!! Let's face it, when others are in summer clothes and I'm bundled up with scarves and hats because of the cold and neuralgia.... I've given up my dignity, and they all probably think I'm some funny old homeless lady!

I avoid saying names because they rarely stick the first time around. I hate that I lose names but hate it more if I say the wrong name. If I am with someone and someone else comes up and I can't remember their name, I just introduce the one who's name I can remember. (in a warm, friendly "here's the person I told you about" tone so it doesn't come across like an oversight)....the other person almost always automatically fills in their name or is asked what their name is. I definitely play on other people's manners to fill in the blanks. :)

Oh the games we play to cover up how we are feeling. LOL

I live in the South so it's perfectly acceptable to call someone sweetie, honey, ect..we sure know how to fake it, don't we...lol

Hi Momcat, I love genuine endearments, and have to say that you Southern Belles are as genuinely nice as it comes. I don’t care for the way some can use it in a condescending way! That’s like declaring war to me! LOL!

The ‘girlfriend’ thing stuck like glue to me, in case you haven’t noticed! I certainly shower my grand kids with endearments, my grandson is now 12 and often requires me to call him Zach! Yeah, that age! Thankfully, I’m still cool enough to hang out with!

wow, I've been off balance lately too. The brain fog is horrible somedays and for moments it clears. Its like cloudy day and then the sun will peek thru and then, bam. Some stupid cloud comes by and blocks the sun again. But at least the sun is still there.

Yeah, I'm a poet. LOL.

Roulette67 I must be a poet too!!! LOL. I have the exact issues. When I walk, I have to almost purposely balance myself or I'll fall, walk into a wall, etc. I totally look like a drunk. When I get the horrific brain fog, I tend to withdraw to be confused all by myself. Does anyone take a supplement that seems to help for the dry, blurry vision problems? I take drops. Unfortunately, that's like putting a bandage on a bullet hole.

Only one thing works for me- while taking a deep breath I give myself a hug.
