Elevated blood pressure

I have recently been having elevated blood pressure. I have never had an issue with it before. Rheumatologist said it isn’t a side effect of the methotrexate. It is just strange cause I have never had an issue before.
Anyone else notice this change?

Mine has been creeping up. But for me it’s familial. That said, long term use of NSAIDs can also contribute to elevated blood pressure. And don’t forget the ever present issue of getting older. Gaining weight. You get the picture.

This might be a stretch, but methotrexate can cause anemia and anemia can cause both elevated blood pressure and high resting heart beat.

And as Stoney said, there are many other factors. Do keep in mind that the standard for blood pressure is 120/80-140/90. There’s been an unsettling trend perpetuated by the manufacturers of blood pressure medications to call anything over 120/80 “pre-hypertension.”

Using that logic when I have a mammogram that comes back with “no abnormalities of note” that makes me “pre-breast cancer.”

Both are silliness of the highest order in my opinion.
