If you liked the spoons explanation here is something else you might like. There are a variety of versions out there for different AI’s. This one was adapted for Sjogren’s and it is a letter to family.
That was nice Cassi, thank you. Its pretty detailed. I really like how she explains not really needing people to tell you how to handle the disease or what the latest diet can do, etc. I personally struggle with not getting snippy over that one. LOL
Qadosh, that kind of fatigue is scary. I have dealt with times where I was afraid to drive home from work. Thank goodness I live close. I limit my traveling otherwise when I am in a fatigue phase (like now). It is so overwhelming. I am glad you are ok though.
Qadosh I am so sorry you lost your ability to drive. It is better than taking a chance of hurting yourself or others though. I am so glad you were ok after your accident! We must appreciate the gifts we still have, with this illness. It is a blessing that you had the option to stop driving and that you have such a caring husband by your side. God bless!
It was kind of a "no-brainer"....I cannot turn my head from side to side so cannot look to see if cars are coming up along side of me plus my hands are so deformed i really cannot grasp the wheel. So all of that , combined with my tendency to snooze off ....well it had to be. I now rely on friends to get places.. My husband refuses to help so my friends have pitched in and also my dad drives me to MD visits in NY. I hate being so dependent on the goodness of people but am blessed to have a church with people there who are willing to help me.
Just keep counting the blessings you have. I am so glad you have your church family! God bless!
Thanks for the info. I have noticed that eating things like heavy wheat products or refined sugars can throw me off for days. Funny that something as simple as water can affect it also
And....what exactly is a DMARD? It would be nice to know what type of drug I am taking. LOL
Thank you so much Ovisaries for the helpful information and you are right, every time I'm at the doctor or at my daughter's massage clinic they all shout MORE WATER. I hate the "taste" of water so this is really hard for me. I am considering using hypnosis to convince myself it tastes great. Has any one tried hypnosis for anything?

DMARDs are "disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs" The common ones are these
- Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil)
- Leflunomide (Arava)
- Cyclosporine (Neoral)
- Sulfasalazine (Azulfidine)
- Methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall)
- Azathioprine (Imuran)
Sometimes the Biologic drugs are included as they technically are DMARDs also.
