Hello Keri from Washington, we are happy you found us!

@KeriD

Hi there, Keri

My name is Danielle and I am a Ben’s Friends intern. I wanted to take a moment to welcome you to Sjogren’s Syndrome Support.

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling with Sjogren’s / Crohn’s related symptoms. Especially given that you are a single (and presumably very busy!) mom of 4, I can only imagine how frustrating this must feel. I am thrilled to hear that you are looking for more information about Sjogren’s. You are in the right place, and I do hope you find the knowledge and support that you are looking for in this community.

What type of information are you interested in, Keri? I would be happy to point you in the direction of some specific threads.

When you get a chance, try clicking the search icon (magnifying glass, top right). This is a great way to browse through existing topics. Please do not hesitate to create your own discussions by clicking the + New Topic tab.

We are here if you have any questions or concerns.

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I am super busy. Yes I cry every day due to the pain and discomfort. I do feel alone and lost. I don’t know much about what I have. All I know is I’m falling apart and I can’t make any sense of it. I am just so tired and I feel like giving up most days. But I can’t and I won’t. With that being said I would like to know more about this crap and what I can do to help my body the best way I can. I have also gained a lot of weight and can’t seem to shake it off no matter what I do. Whats up with that? Thank you for your time and support.

Hi Keri,

Great to hear from you.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time with what I am sure are extremely frustrating symptoms. You have expressed emotions and feelings that are truly so understandable. Dealing with physical discomfort can take such a toll on one’s emotional and mental wellbeing, can’t it. This is why I am so glad you found Ben’s Friends. I feel like it has the potential to be a kind of escape for you… a place where you can connect with others and discover new methods of managing Sjogren’s related symptoms. I am always amazed by what community members come up with here.

Ah yes… weight gain. You are not the first community member to mention this. It does not seem to be an uncommon complaint, especially among those who are on certain types of medications. Did you get a chance to mention this to a healthcare professional, Keri?

Hope you’ll be in touch… whenever you have time!

Danielle

Hi Keri, that is a great question, and I’m betting that you’re not the only one here who is living with this problem. Why not start a thread of your own? Go to “Home”, click on the +New Topic icon, and away you go. Give it a catchy subject libe, like “Weight problems: what’s up with that anyway?” and see what others have to say.

Taking a few minutes of “me time” online here might be just the thing to give you a little “lift” during a day.

Hang in there, and hang out here!
