Okay I don't want to sound like anew convert, but I had an interesting week. I have PsA and have been diagnosed with SS as well. It all fits and treatment for both was somewhat effective. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with aneurysm of the ascending aorta also a condition that is consistent with both of these diagnoses. I have had numerous problems with my "glands" having had several of them removed over the years.
So heres what happened this week. I had crushing chest pain, it extended to my arms up into may jaw etc etc. I figured it was the annie. I tore into the doc who immediately wheeled me to the "Lab" for either repair or referral to the boys with sharp instruments. He thought it was the problem too.. Well it wasn't. It was another bout of pericarditis. He decided it was time for aspiration or more likely pericardiotomy We started visiting about previous surgery etc When we got to the glands and SS, he got a funny look on his face. He said well you will live for a couple days anyway, so I want to try something else.
He did and within 24 hours I felt better than I have in 20 years. He diagnosed me with Sarcoid arthritis. He started me on a med called Colchicine and did some IV type NSAIDS. Now all the other stuff is still on the table but he did tell me Sarcoid arthritis/sarcoiditis is often missed and called SS. The symptoms are the same, but Sarcoid usually has more pain.
Anyway its worth a discussion with your doc....
