Yes - this is the only study that shows success I posted it above - BUT is in China and the papers are not always the best quality or reliability.
They are researching stem cells there becuase they don’t have the same tesing restrictions and government regulations that we have in the “west"
I belive they even " volunteer” people to be test subjetc but their trials are usually small scale.
However I haven’t written it off indeed I have written to the authors some weeks ago for further information but received no reply - will try again sometime soon
I will agree that China is a bit on the shady side. However, a company currently has mesenchymal stem cells in phase 2 and 3 clinical trials for autoimmune disease. I believe chronic graft vs host is currently in phase 3. It’s called meaoblast and Osiris pharmaceuticals. Here’s a link to the company site http://www.osiris.com/therapeutics.php as trials go well I’m sure they will expand to different diseases. Being hopeful! There is a lot if sjogrens research currently being conducted at NIH as well as by the Japanese and Denise Faustman does as well since the NOD knockout mice which develop diabetes also develop sjogrens.
I misspelled the company name it is mesoblast.
Very interesting - thanks
Still no mention of SS in either company but mesoblast appear to be targetting the right bits of the immune system.
Still suspect it’s many years off thought before phase 3 trials are complete and the treatment becomes available sadly.
