The only thing that I have found positive about this P.I.T.A illness is that I am so much more open minded
when it comes to life and life's situations.

I have a theory that learning not to be judgmental is the last stage of maturity, and most people never get there...
I have learned to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life.
Everything happens for a reason. We may not always understand or find it, but it does.
What a way to evolve!
This is why i love this group! All understanding and non-judgmental !
I've learned a lot of humility....and I mean real humility, not the beat yourself up stuff that often gets labeled that. Of course, there is room for improvement in that area, but, still, it has made me less judgmental of others, and myself, as well.

100% right to all of these responses. The old Pam was just thinking about her career, what's for dinner, OMG! I have to get my PhD get get where I want tb be....and so on. Now, I'm force to slow down and take care of me. The old Pam did 4 every one else 24/7.

I am a bit sad, though, that it took a serious illness to give myself permission to be a bit more vulnerable. And I STILL struggle with it!
