Good evening. Just wondering if anybody has had issues with pericardial effusion. I have had one for years with no symptoms. Found it on a routine echo and doctor said could be from sjogrens.
Interesting that you ask. So I have had pericarditis with a small pericardial effusion. The Assumption has always been that it was related to autoimmune, but I have Sjogren’s and psoriatic arthritis. I think my rheumatologist thought it was more likely related to the Sjogren’s though.
I also want to add in. It’s not really a cardiac issue. The heart itself is just fine. But it’s the sack around the heart that is where this problem is.
