In addition to SS I have also degenerative disc disease. Does anyone else have this? I cannot stand or even walk for more than 5 to10 minutes. This means I am truly housebound unless I have my walker with a seat. I will go out with my husband to dinner or a movie and rely on him to help me get around but he has fragile skin and I tore his skin on his arm trying to stand up from a chair. So I have to be careful whom I ask to help me get up.
I wonder if this isn't from having the dreaded SS for over 20 years.
As we age we develop degenerative disease. Rather or not Sjogren's contributes to this who knows? I would if you have not already see a good orthopedist that specializes in backs. Physical therapy is sometimes recommended to strengthen. If need be the orthopedist can always refer you to a neuro-surgeon if he feels that is necessary. Good luck and I hope you get some answers and some pain relief. Ga. Peach
I agree with Ga Peach...it can be very hard to tell what is related to SS or not. I am sorry to hear you are struggling so much, though. Sending gentle hugs.
