I really am fairly lucky with this stuff. I take 1000mg soft gels of B12, and supplements of D, and I take Biotin on my own but they doc is ok with that. They have told me that its odd that my body gets enough from them but so far, have avoided being jabbed. (I also make sure to get Omegas also)
I can say that I don’t get the massive hair thinning that I was getting before I got steady on all of this. When I start missing them, my early warning is little sores in the corner of my mouth. I set a reminder in my phone so I don’t miss very much these days.
Oh. So your body obviously is absorbing B12 properly. My level was 171 when tested so that was pretty low and I guess they wanted to replenish. I drink cod liver oil (done that since a child) every day, take a D3 (2000 i.u.) pill daily and now, for 8 weeks, will be getting the B-12 injection. I used to take Biotin on my own, then got nervous when I read something potentially negative about it and stopped, though I know it’s water soluble and should be safe. Thinking about taking an entire B complex supplement again, now that you mention Biotin, and now that my hair is suddenly a problem. Thanks again for such useful insights.
I don’t absorb B well, which is why I need supplements but thankfully just not gotten to the point that I can’t absorb them at all. I am hanging on to no shots as long as possible.
This may sound weird but I also take Cbd oil (with no thc). It’s been 3 or 4 months of that and all of the sudden my eyelashes are growing. Lol… I’ve always had short skinny ones so this is totally cool for me. My hair appears to be healthier also. I know the stuff is high in Omegas. (I used to take flaxseed oil but never had this kind of result). No clue if that’s what is helping but it’s the only change in a few years for supplements.
Oh wow! Do you know what your current or last B12 level was when tested? I’ve read that though the ‘normal’ range is typically displayed as 200-900, that low limit should be quite a bit higher. Don’t know where that leaves me at 171! As to the lashes, how’s that for a silver lining to SS! Enjoy.
Hi. I am still reeling from the B12 shots I have recently been having to take and now the biopsy from my endoscopy a few weeks ago reveals that I have chronic gastritis. Could that have led to the chest pains? All the acid maybe? Or the pain in the right side that keeps coming and going at will? Where does it all end?
Of course, I’m not a medical professional…but chronitc gastritis can lead to elevated acid levels in the gut, which can lead to acid reflux, which can lead to chest pain (and a host of other things) .
You may want to look at having acid reflux treated that should reduce other random symptoms – for example, acid reflux can make your voice hoarse! it causes all sorts of odd, random things, up to and including cancer (not to be an alarmist).

Yes, I’m worried about Barrett’s esophagus (and worse). I had the endoscopy adew weeks back and was told immediately after that it was normal, but in the followup today, the gastroenterologist told me that the biopsy revealed chronic gastritis, which he said often comes with Sjogren’s (or was it B-12 deficiency he tied it in with?) and he suggested Nexium, etc. Maybe that’s what I need to do? I just don’t want to become dependent…
