Hi, this is my first post on here. I was just diagnosed about 3 months ago from a lip biopsy. I’m 27 years old and I have a 5 year old daughter. I am so sick that I can barely take care of my daughter. Thank God I have my moms help!
I suffer from severe nausea and gastroparesis. I have nausea, vomiting and diarrhea almost daily. I also suffer from severe pain and migraines. I take plaquenel 400 mg, prednisone 20 mg. among many other meds. I know this won’t be forever and I will get better but I am so depressed because I’m so sick and in so much pain.
Is there anyone else out there who suffers from gastroparesis due to sjogrens? Are there any other meds that anyone takes that might help. I have a good doctor who listens to my suggestions. I feel like I need to be on more prednisone. My doc doesn’t want to raise the dose. I don’t want to make this too long but I also have nerve and spinal issues. I also take gabapentin, and Percocet for pain. Any suggestions, please I’m so stressed and so broke because I can’t work. I just graduated college and I don’t even feel like I could work right now if I got a job. Thank you.
I’m sorry you’ve got so much going on. Aren’t there meds that can assist with gastroparesis? I seem to remember that my mom was on a med for this, due to her diabetes.
I do take reglan 3 times a day to help with motility and at first it was a life changer. I was throwing up in the school parking lot and the drive there it was so bad before the med and I started having a lot less throwing up. Like once or twice a day. Then I started the prednisone and I started having days w/ out throwing up.
About a week ago I started having nausea and vomiting almost as bad as before. It’s like the reglan isn’t working.
I’ve read that sicca can cause my stomach issues. Does anyone have similar issues? What do you do?
I’m so sorry you have these problems. I’m newly diagnosed and feeling nauseous a lot of the time. I’m so tired and achy that I don’t feel like I can even sit up and watch a movie with my husband tonight, I need to rest in bed. Forget about seeing fireworks tonight. I take Gabapentin for pain caused by a disc problem in my lower back and hips. I don’t have any answers for you but I can understand why you’d be depressed. That’s great you have your mom’s help. My husband still thinks I should be able to get groceries and cook and clean like I used to and it’s just so hard for me. I was jobhunting before I was diagnosed and just don’t know how I could work feeling like this.
We are in this together. I guess that I would keep asking the doctor for something to help your digestive issues. Hang in there!
Teddy’s mom…have you applied for disability? This disease now qualifies for disability in some cases. Wouldn’t hurt to try.Ashley, I’m sorry you can’t seem to get much relief. All I can say is rest as much as possible. Not easy with a 5 year old. I’ve just worn myself out grocery shopping and am expected to make dinner and do fireworks tonight. We were rained out yesterday. It’s 90 degrees and humid…I don’t want to go. Hang in there
So sorry for what you are going thru. I take Cymbalta for my nerve pain and it helps a lot. Ive been dealing with so much fatigue I couldn’t imagine having to take care of kids, I’m so glad your Mom helps. It’s important to ask for help. I have never had the stomach issues I didn’t know that was part of this ugh I’m new to it all. I hope you get some relief soon! ((((Hugs))))
