I TYPE IN CAPITOL LETTERS B/C IT Y IS TOO HARD TO TYPE LIKE A NORMAL PERSON. I HAVE THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME(FOR YEARS) PUTTING MY PILLS INTO THE PROPER PILL BOXES! I've tried every SINGLE WAY THAT I COULD THINK OF & then the next day when I GO TO TAKE MY DAILY MEDS. IT'S JUST CRAZY. I ACTUALLY PUT 3 OF THE SAME MEDS IN MY MORNING BOX. Left out meds. that SHOULD BE IN THE MORNING BOX, ETC.I GET SO FRUSTRATED B/C IT TAKES ME ON AVERAGE WAY OVER AN HOUR TO REFILL...AND THEY'RE STILL WRONG! I'VE WRITTEN THEM DOWN ON PAPER, I'VE WRITTEN ON THE PILL BOXES M, E & NIGHT. When I am finally through, I feel good b/c in my mind I did everything perfect. Now that's one screwed-up mind!!
One more question please. Has anyone heard of using something called Hemp Oil? Is it legal, safe, dangerous? Does it even work for SS?
PLEASE EXCUSE MY TYPING SKILLS. That's just one more issue that I have now?
Sending much thanks out to the whole group! You've helped me out so much.
Hemp Oil is the legalized part of Marijuana. I'm curious as to whether it would help for us or not. Its not legalized here (NY) for any of the autoimmune disorders. Seizures, chemo patients, etc are on the very definitive list. I'd love to hear what is happening in less restrictive areas.
I will say that I have seen the discussion pop up on other message boards and pretty much the overwhelming response is that for the pain, etc we have, it does nothing. It may be awhile before any kind of real research for us comes out. Some of us do have nervous system involvement in one form or another….I wonder if that would relate to the way it works on seizure disorders. Oh the fun…...
Is there somebody else who could put your pills in the boxes for the week? My husband has offered to do this for me, although right now I'm still managing. My issue is fine motor rather the cognitive.
If you are legally disabled, you may even qualify for a meds nurse. You can also, in some cases, ask for the pharmacy to package up medications for you. Not sure if that's done around here.

confused said: I wish. My husband could help but he has MTBI. So, I was his caretaker for 10 years. Now we just are all mesed up together. I wish that I didn't can find my creativity and innovative self. It's just blocked . If I could at least use my creativity it would be therapeutic . It may even make my mind better than it is now, That may even help me to do my pillbox properly and creatively. God knows what he's doing. So we'll be OK. My son says that my husband and I sound like a "who's on first" conversational all day.

I do mine for two weeks. Two weeks am. Two weeks pm. I use those little connected boxes labeled MTW etc. I hold up the tops with a rubber band. I usually do them myself. But when I’m too “foggy,” my husband does them for me. I take a supplement called PS 100. I take one in the morning and one at night. I swear it helps with brain fog and I haven’t had any side effects from it. If you go to www.iherb.com and look up ps 100 you can see reviews about this supplement. I understand it is used in Europe for ADHD and mild dementia. But, I have my husband to fall back on when I am over tired or too foggy and it sounds like you may need a person for when you are having a very bad time of it.
I had a friend (years ago, but I know that places still do it.) that got his pills bubble wrapped for him for the week. We both went to a day center together, and they set it up for him. My pharmacy said they don’t do it, but maybe if you call around you can find some place that will do it for you.
Also, if you are on disability, you might qualify for In Home Support Service, IHSS (that’s what it’s called in California). They come to your house a couple hours a week and help you do what is needed. From house work, to putting your pills in the container.
I know that IHSS has cut back because of budget crisis, but it doesn’t hurt looking into it.
Hey.. I went and looked. You are correct that Puritan's Pride is offering Hemp seeds, etc…. LOL. I imagine the distinction is whether or not it contains THC. Sorry if I confused…...
