Sjögren's syndrome in patients with interstitial cystitis

I haven’t been diagnosed with this but completely related to the symptoms that my mother with ra has and she was diagnosed with ic about 5 years ago.
I love the sound of the prelief. I had never heard of it and had to give up tea and coffee 2 years ago. Will definately get some, even a coffee once in a while would be such a treat. Thank you for mentioning it.
I have found that if i’m very careful with food and beverages it doesn’t cause too much of a problem. If I eat the wrong thing I know there will be no way I will sleep that night.
 xx

So sorry you are going through these symptoms and pain too.

I also eat carefully. Soda, coffee and tea causes my CNS problems as well as the IC. I stay away from processed foods and fast food it aggrevate's my arthritis.

Glad this discussion is helping others

Some folks take a lot of the Prelief. But I think ideally its best to greatly reduce the acidic foods and to take it now and then. It makes one feel more “normal” to be able to have an occassional coffee etc. the reviews on Amazon are VERY positive. It has helped me a lot. Helps GERD a little too; but awesome for IC!

Ah thanks nomad, I was going to ask if the prelief can help gerd. Apart from gaviscon advance any other meds the doctor has tried me on have not helped. I try to stay away from coffee etc because of the gerd so the prelief would to be to use for a special treat!

Thanks Country girl, we seem to get many nasty things with sjogrens. It’s definately life changing.

Does anyone take Elmiron for their IC? I do and it helps but it is so expensive. I pay over $2400 a year with insurance. With all my other medications it's killing us financially. Do you think the Prelief would do the same thing? It helps to know all the issues are connected. This group is a godsend. I don't feel so alone anymore!

I get thoughts of it...Or what what I was told was probably it. I knew it is associated with SS, but I never was told how it can be treated.

Thank you for the link!

HI Country girl,

I'm not sure how up to date this info is, but here's a link to the Sjogren's Foundation about IC.

Thank You! I just looked it up on your link and the link on the SS letter.

It was very helpful. I saw a specialist for this who gave me a low dose of valium and it helped a lot, but it combined with one of my other meds gave me serious side effects.

Its good to know that SS is linked to it, in that manner if the SS is under control then all the other issues associated with SS can also get undercontrol.

Thanks again

I have this but never connected it with SS. Very helpful. Thanks for the posts.
