I find this so interesting that Sjogrens people have neuropathy. My hands and arms go to sleep all the time especially if I’m watching tv at night. Leaning on an elbow will worsen it. Holding my cell phone in hand for extended periods talking will cause it too. Gripping the steering wheel when driving. Has any ones doctor ever td them why this occurs with SS?
Hi Ginger! So do I. Mine is constant numbness but if I lean on my elbows it does make it worse as well as the phone. I don't dare to drive, at this point I can barely get down the stairs & can't pull my self up in to our truck. Then I have a walker I need to go out with so I'd have to deal with that. Too much so I stay in most of the time which drives me crazy at times especially being summer. None of my Dr.s have even put the 2 together but its obvious on here there is a definite connection.
Yes there is. It may not be as common as some of the other symptoms but it happens for sure. My doc referred me to a neurologist that is familiar with SS and he did a full workup from there. It gets tiresome but we have to keep advocating for ourselves.
Thanks Jules. My neuro referred me to a rheumy for my SS.We sure do have to advocate for ourselves! You are lucky to find a neuro familiar with SS.
I was having awful tremors. I was sent to endocrinologist for my thyroid. She put me on propranolol, and my tremors subsided. Have any of your doctors checked your thyroid? I ended up being diagnosed with Graves. I was extremely hyperthyroid.
Dawn,
Yes they have ruled out my thyroid. The neuro put me on neurontin and they have subsided a lot. I also started trying to eat healthier. Waiting on a rheumy referral now.
