Does anyone feel like their body weighs a ton from the waist down. I call it gravitational pull. Like my body is being pulled to the ground. Sometimes my legs feel like they’re encased in cement.
Yes it’s a very familiar felling for me. I always liken it to the resistance you feel trying to walk through water. For me, these kinds of symptoms are always worse in the morning and tend to ease up a bit as the day goes on.

Hi Ladymindful. Yeah I get that sometimes too. My legs feel really stiff, heavy, and weak and I have trouble climbing steps. I think it must be a combination of the fatigue that comes with this stupid disease and probably also some weakening it does to the muscles. I've been taking Plaquenil for just about 2 weeks now and I'm actually starting to feel a tiny bit better as far as the fatigue goes...so I'm hoping that eventually all this pain and stiffness will start to ease up too.
But yeah, I understand what you mean. It's like you've flown to another planet with a stronger gravitational pull and your body suddenly feels twice as heavy!
I get this, too. I had been blaming it on my varicose veins, even though I wear support hose every day. To think, it's possibly SS!
I feel that in my arms a lot of times. It feels like they’re full of lead.
I have had that heavy feeling for years. I have neuropathy in my feet and legs due to Sjogrens and thought that was attributing to the heaviness. If I'm on my legs for an extended period of time the tops of my legs feel very heavy .I compare it to a toothache in my legs my muscles always hurt. I've never found anyone else that has these symptoms the doctor's never seem to be able to give me any answers. It's getting more difficult to go up stairs and I can't walk very long distances either. Does anyone know what is causing this? I would be relieved to know that I'm not the only one.
I get this as well. I say it feels like my blood has lead flowing through it. Does anyone have any suggestions on things that help this? I have been on generic Plaquenil for 2 years, and sometimes I think it feels like it is not working as well as it used to. When I get this way, the only thing I can do is try to slow down my pace and routine where I can.
Ladymindful,
Apparently you have many friends with this symptom based on the responses and you can surely add me to the list! I also have neuropathy in legs and hands and I like the descriptions everyone has shared. A few weeks ago while driving my new car my right hand jerked with the heavy feeling and it caused me to go into a ditch. I was so scared but I was very blessed !!! I wasn't hurt unless you count my pride and confidence being in the toilet. I was being watched over as the damage to my car was only a broken side mirror. I spend so much of my life feeling heavy and weighted down. So know you are not alone Miss Lady!!!!!
YES! Good descriptions. It does feel like weights.
Yes. I have. I don't feel much pain, if any when i have it happen, but it is almost like trying to run from something in a dream.
