I know it’s hard to sleep when you are not in your own bed and it is especially harder because you are in the hospital. Hopefully you can visualize something peaceful and drift off to sleep.
Wishing you a restful sleep…

Thank you Cassie, I slept at about10:00 or 10:30 and slept til 4;00 when being cold woke me up.I asked for and received another blanket but by then was too awake to get anymore sleep....So I've been at work editing my book manuscript....so got some good undisturbed time of work done. Thanks for you wishes on my behalf. It was a short night of sleep for me....at home I go to bed while it's still light outside and sleep til 4 Or 5:00....Solule Medrol is horrible for sleep....It gives me terrible insomnia so Iwas grateful for even that much sleep.

Good Morning, Cynthia,

So sorry you are in hospital...I assume you still are? I just saw this. I love lilacs, too, but I fear the TX sun would flash fry them. We are still in a long protracted drought, and water is a constant worry. I am very impressed that you strung sentences together that actually made sense WITHOUT COFFEE!! I don't think I could! Hang in there. I have to go take the dog to the vet. They will clip her nails, give her her shots and bathe her. She's a bit much for me to handle sometimes. Keeping you in prayer.

Good morning…..glad to hear you are working and keeping the spirits positive. I know this is a tough run. Hoping you get a little relief as the day goes on. Sending hugs.

HI

Just wanted you to no i am still thinking of you hope you are starting to do better

hi Purple....Thanks for noticing me (as Eeyore says). I am still here. I was trying to respond to some of these notes here on my Kindle Fire an d I kept losing messages so I decided to use the laptop...so much easier.

I am doing ok...slept from 10:30 to 4:00AM which is not nearly as much as I normally sleep, but that is solule medrol for you. I'm grateful to get even that much.

The doc still has not begun to cut back on the dose yet so that means at least several more days here. I also still am short of breath when I get up and move around.....The doctor says I've gotten into a bad groove and they have to turn me around as I was getting worse and worse over the past six weeks...

have a great day!

I answered this message with a nice long response on my Kindle Fire and lost the whole danged thing!!

I love lilacs...I used to have a friend (internet chat buddy) who lived in Katy TX and I used to love to hear about her extensive gardens...they have two gardens...A spring garden and a fall garden. What a lovely long growing season. I guess the big challenge is finding enough water for them. I live in the NE mountains of PA. Our growing season here is two months long.Just long enough to get a couple of tomatoes! I'm afraid this will definitely be the end of my gardening efforts. I used to have a massive container garden. But every year it has gotten smaller and smaller. Now I'm down to six plants and a bunch of lettuce I grew from seed. Every year, I inevitably end up in the hospital and all my plants die. This year I'm relying on my daughter to pot the plants and keep them watered if I don't get there in time. The plants urgently need to be planted but today is a stormy day of rain and lightening. So it will have to wait yet another day.

Have a great day in your travels.

So sorry to hear that you were admitted! Have someone bring you some good books or magazines and imagine you are at a resort being waited on hand and foot. I wonder if you can order the lobster? LOL!

My thoughts are with you, and hope you are feeling better...and may your coffee arrive on time! Love and hugs to you.

HI Laura, I keep losing my replies here on this thread.

I Have my Kindle Fire here so have the world at my fingertips ...as well as my laptop. Unfortunately steroids blur my vision....so in a day or so I may not be able to do anything at all....except listen to music.

I have glaucoma and cataracts from Sj and steroids respectively. My eyes are my life...I'm terrified to lose my vision. I pray that will not happen.

You poor woman. I know how badly a neck can feel like that. By now, the night is over and you must be so relieved. With all the money hospitals charge, one would think they would have excellent mattresses for patients -- or mattress toppers for everyone. Big hugs of support coming to you.

Thanks for the numerous responses to this thread. YOu have all been so encouraging. For those of you who pray...: I have terrible rotten no-good veins. So far Iin two days I've had two IV sites and a total of over 12 attempts to find one that will work. They are bringing a nurse in from Peds or ICU to try to see if they can come up with anything. Other than that it is a port and I'm at HUGE risk of infection because of that. So pray with me for a miracle oK?

Thanks.

Sure will, Qadosh. Prayers coming.

Qadosh, I'll pray for you. The hospital you're staying at doesn't have an IV team? At the hospitals I was at, they did. The IV team is a few dedicated people that have expertise in veins. They can put in Pic lines and such. I have the worst veins in the world. But the IV team has an ultra sound machine that can find the vein in no time at all. I think you need something stronger then a regular IV, but I don't remember the name, sorry. But the IV I was good for up to 29 days! It was wonderful. My veins always collapse, so this IV that I got stayed where it should.

I hope you have some luck with your veins. I know how it is to be stuck multiple times.

*HUGS*

Stacie

this hospital has a PICC team...they put in PICCs and the surgeons put in central lines. But for just regular IVs the nursing supervisors,Peds nurses or ICU nurses can be called on.

Absolutely praying….for healing and for peace.

Beans, I hate when that happens! I lose things on Kindle a lot, and we won't even talk about autocorrect! STill keeping you in prayer. It is tough giving up something you love and for a rather rotten reason, too. Praying for your veins to step lively and not give you trouble. Blessings and blessings, Lori

Thanks Lori,

They have decided to put a PICC line in today...I have a feeling it will become a central line as my peripheral veins are all used up by former PICCs. I don't care what they do, They just need to be able to give me the meds.I know if they were to send me home I would not last long. My breathing has gotten so bad.
