My son has a huge house, with 14 foot ceilings downstairs, and a 2 story entry hall, it's always chilly. I wore 3 layers Thanksgiving day, and never had to take any off!

I asked him why he no longer used the gas fireplaces, and he said they are so over sized that they literally run them out! He's thought of replacing them, but elaborate mantles and book cases would have to be torn out and reworked, so they just don't use them.

You would think that people would be smart enough to consult and research when adding such a feature?

They were there when he bought the house!

BTW, they have some great deals on the merino wool socks here

Thanks for the smart wool link…those are great prices…those are great socks. I love wool all year round. Got my new heated mattress pad. Yeah

Thank you, SK, for the link. I can't wait until Santa brings me a couple of pair! (I hope)

I freeze all day and sweat so badly all night that I have to change sides because the entire side(pillow too)of mattress, pj's, hair, everything totaly drenched. I had been on hormones for meno but my ins refuses to pay for it. I hope that is the cause of the sweats because i am terrified it could be something else/

I go from cold to hot, no matter the temp I wear fleece lined leggings, Ann Klein, then a light upper layer, adding another layer, if necessary. If I start sweating, I rush to sit under fan at full speed, until I dry gets really crazy sometimes. I like the idea of using the dryer to warm things up. My electric mattress pad is kaput. Tomorrow, I NEED to find another. It makes sleeping or resting very yummy
