No more hiding

I’ve been hiding, in the house, feeling sorry for myself. Also, with my fears of being hacked, I hesitate talking and even joining on-line groups.
Being so house bound lately if I do not keep in contact, using various on-line groups, depression will once again, cause another re-admission.
Not to gripe, but the latest ‘blow’ my Sjogren’s has given me is, a diagnosis of autoimmune liver disease, specifically, autoimmune hepatitis. Just the word, hepatitis, alone, can cause, and does cause, and did cause, for me, so many problems, also so much trouble, recently I’ve broken down crying and also, finally admitted to depression.

Hi Mea! It’s nice to see you here. I’m sorry about the new diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis. For those who may not be aware, it’s not uncommon for people to have more than one autoimmune diagnosis. If your immune system is attacking itself, it may do it on more than one way.

I hope that you’re able to see a specialist for this, and get on the right track. But I’m also concerned about your mental health. Inflammation can contribute to depression and anxiety, and getting your health problems under control may assist your depression. But you’re dealing with a new diagnosis, and you’re struggling with depression. Have you considered speaking with a therapist? Depression is not something that you should deal with alone.

I hope that things start to improve for you soon.

Hi Mea, glad that you reached out and posted how you’re doing, even if it’s not been the best time for you lately. Even if not everyone replies, it’s always helpful to others in similar situations with the same feelings. There’s a lot of things on your plate and it’s okay to feel down about them, and I completely agree with Stoney that it’s important to connect with a therapist if you haven’t already. Even if stress and depression aren’t the complete issue, getting over the time and energy hurdle to talk with a professional can really help with handling everything else. Hope things start getting better for you soon, and we’ll be here to listen whenever you have any updates you’d like to share.
